National Library of Bhutan

The first picture shows the current National Library building in the background. The building in the foreground is the archives and it is likely the National Library will move into it in the near future to enable renovations.

The second picture shows some of the decorative detail on the building, which is typical of Bhutanese architecture.

The public entrance to the Library.

I am so envious of your trip to Bhutan - it must have been magical. I wonder if the National Library of Bhutan has an online catalogue and do they use Dewey?

They do use the Dewey system but I can't remember if they have an online catalogue. If they do, it is not obvious when you walk in. I have a couple of blurry images of the interior which I'll put on the blog. There are armchairs and only a few readers in quite a small space.
